Sokoloff Arts Creative Fellowship
Updated: Apr 3, 2020
Leia is honored to have been selected as a 2020 Sokoloff Arts Creative Fellow, alongside Herd's co-director, Larissa Marten. The fellowship provides an artistic home for creators working at the intersection of arts, media, civics, social justice, and small business. Thanks to the Sokoloff Arts Foundation, Herd has been granted a full year of space at Town Stages in TriBeCa, artistic and entrepreneurial resources, and peer-to-peer support.
Over the course of the fellowship, Herd will focus on developing Pacemakers, a feminist, magical retelling of Eliud Kipchoge's 1:59:40 marathon feat. The electrical energy required for the production will be entirely generated by the action on stage in line with Herd's mission to promote a more sustainable theatre industry.
Leia and Larissa are honored to get to share space and community with an incredible cohort over the next year.
